THE 17TH ANNUAL
LANIKAI COLDPACK CLASSIC

In 1992, OC-1 was a minority with only a handful of participants on the starting line of any race.  So in 1993 the Cold Pack was formed as an OC-1 only race to help grow the participation of OC-1.  Men and women raced separately because there were not enough OC-1's yet in the market and couples had to share canoes.  It also signified a time to start training again, and a good excuse to have a party.  Over the years, OC-1 has grown to be the majority of craft on any given starting line, yet the Cold Pack still remains the same low key race with a great party, but now you can race anything you want.  However, the grand prize is only awarded to the OC-1 winner.
